Fluttering by to say…

Hi friends! Sorry it’s been a while – life is very, very busy at the moment! Some good, some bad, but I am here now and I have a lovely project to share with you today!

Today’s inspiration features the new release from Wow Embossing! My card uses the Hint of Pink embossing powder from the new Pastel Pearls Trio, which is a set of subtle, pearlescent powders, that are just BEAUTIFUL (link for US site HERE). They also look amazing on dark cardstock, so stay tuned for a video on that coming soon!

To create my card, I placed a panel of textured pale pink cardstock into the Mariposa embossing folder by Altenew, and ran it through my die-cutting machine (for the Gemini, just use the top and bottom plate with no shims for such a chunky embossing folder).

I dusted the panel with anti-static powder, then swiped my embossing ink pad lightly over the top of the raised butterfly. I coated the butterfly in the Hint of Pink powder, brushing away any excess powder with a dry paintbrush, then heat embossed with my Wow heat tool.

If you’re interested in how to use embossing powders with embossing folders, I have a video up on the Wow YouTube channel:

The embossed butterfly makes such a statement background, I wanted to keep the rest of the card simple, so I stamped out a sentiment from a Reverse Confetti stamp set (called Fluttering By) in Grapefruit ink , trimmed it down and added it to the card with foam tape. I then added a few sequins from Lucy’s cards.

Finally, I trimmed down the card panel and added it to a white card base.

I hope you like today’s card, and I hope to see you again soon!
