Retro Card Design with MFT Die-Namics

Hey friends, I’m back with another MFT challenge entry! I love the sketch challenges, and I thought this one was really fun! I can’t find the original sketch, but this card by their DT member Deborah shows it off perfectly:

When I was looking through my supplies, I came across the Cassette Tape and Portable Jams die-namics, and I thought they would fit the sketch really well, with the Cassette player as the rectangle, and the headphones as the circle.

I wanted a really retro vibe for my card, so I searched for some cool 70s/80s colour palettes, and fell in love with this one, which I used as inspiration for my card:

I die cut all of the elements using various scraps of card stock from my stash, and glued them all together with liquid glue.

I then cut thin strips of several papers from the Colorful Canvas paper pad, which I added to one side of a cream card panel, and I added the tape player on top of this with foam tape.

I stamped the sentiments on the Cassette and the tape player with my MISTI – they’re from the Mixtape and Right on Track stamp sets.

This one was definitely a labour of love but I am obsessed with how it turned out, and may even display this one in my craft room! Do you ever display your own cards??
