Hey! Thanks for joining me. Today, I’ve got a sweet little shaped card to share with you, featuring the Love Bugs digital stamp from RAM Stamps. I’m not a huge fan of Valentine’s Day, but I do like to make cards for my husband and daughters. My youngest daughter, Charlotte, is obsessed with family, and I knew she’d love this little ladybird family – she will immediately name them as Mummy, Daddy, Molly, Charlotte and Arlo!

To create the shaped card, I folded a piece of white cardstock, and I placed a circle die (about 4″ diameter) so that it hung over the folded edge by about 1/4″, and ran it through my die-cutting machine to make a circular card base.
I printed out my image and also die-cut around it using the same circle die, to add to the front of the card.

For my little ladybirds (which is what we call them in the UK!), I coloured them with Copics and added some white gel pen highlights. I then die-cut the scalloped frame and heat embossed it using Rockin Red embossing powder from Wow Embossing, before adding it to the edge of the card. (By the way, I just noticed the die set I used to create the frame is on sale big time at Time for Tea Designs – this isn’t an affiliate link, just a great deal!)
I die cut the sentiment (which is from Erin Lee Creative‘s Taylor Swift-themed kit, and actually says “lover”, but I cut off the “r” from the end!) three times, and heat embossed one of them with the same red powder, before stacking them all together to make it nice and sturdy. I then added it to the card with liquid glue, and finished off with the word “you” from some pre-printed sentiment strips.

I love how this one turned out and I can’t wait to see Charlotte’s face when she opens her card! See you all soon!
