You’re my Favorite Flavor

I finally got the chance to play with Pink & Main’s “Favorite Flavor” stamp set! As those of you who follow me regularly may know, life has been super busy the past few months, but I’m back to crafting just for fun at last!

I absolutely love the Kawaii style of these images, so I decided to colour them in a similar style. I used a flat layer of colour with my OLO markers, then added solid colour shading in a darker shade.

The colours I used were:

Pig: OR2.0, OR2.2

Bunny: CG0, CG3, CG9, R0.1, R0.2

Bear: OR7.1, OR7.2

Cheeks: R0.1

Cones: OR7.2, 0R7.3

Koalas: WG1, WG3, BG2.1, BG2.3

Cats: CG1, CG3, R02, R03

After colouring and fussy cutting three of the critters with matching ice cream cones, I die cut a rectangular window from an A2 white panel, using one of my rectangular stitched nesting dies (also from Pink & Main). I used tape runner to add acetate to the reverse of the panel, then added foam tape to the reverse of panel, being careful to enclose the window and leave no gaps for the shaker filling to escape.

On my card base, I blended Spun Sugar and Salvaged Patina distress oxides. I found some co-ordinating gems to use as my shaker filling and added them to the centre of the card front, before removing the release paper from the foam tape on the window panel, and placing it over the top, to seal in the shaker filling.

I stamped and fussy cut my sentiment, and added it with liquid glue to the window, then added my three critters with foam tape underneath.

I couldn’t resist making a couple of matching shaker tags (using a die set from Heffy Doodle which is now discontinued). I used the same colouring technique as before, and the same oxide colours (creating one pink tag and one teal).

Thanks for tuning in again today – hope to see you all again soon!
