Hey friends! How are you? I recently invested in 128 OLO Markers (Seize the Stamp had a 45% off sale!), so I’ve been putting them to the test, and I thought I’d share my first OLO-coloured card with you, along with my initial thoughts on the markers!

My card features the Penguin Party digital scene creator stamp from RAM Stamps (if you use code JAYNEVAUGHAN you’ll get 10% off your purchase). I love this set so much, I actually own the original hard-copy stamp set when it was released through MFT Stamps! I used the physical stamp set for the sentiment on today’s card.

I printed out all of the stamps in the set and coloured them up with the following OLO markers:

To create my scene, I stamped the Northern Lights image (from Hero Arts’ Polar Bears Northern Lights stamp & die set) onto a dark blue, slimline panel, using embossing ink, then added some Newport embossing powder, and heat set. I stamped it again with embossing ink over the top, then added some Hint of Green embossing powder, and heat set again. I LOVE these colours, they really make a beautiful aurora effect, between the bright green of the Newport and the pearlescence of the Hint of Green. For added “glow” I ink blended some Twisted Citron distress oxide around the edges.

To add some depth to my sky, I ink blended some black soot and chipped sapphire distress oxides around the very edges of the card.

I then die-cut my snow drifts, attaching the one behind with tape runner, and the one in front with foam tape. I’d cut my penguins out using my Brother Scan N Cut, so I simply added these with a mix of foam squares and liquid glue.

Finally, I heat embossed my sentiment in white on the front of the card, making sure to use plenty of anti-static powder to try and combat any moisture from the ink blending!
