Treat Yourself

Hey guys, how are you? Well, I have happy news and sad news today… the happy news is that I’ve got an adorable dose of rainbow cardmaking inspiration to share with you! But, the sad news is that this will be my last official card as a Time for Tea Designs DT member!

I have absolutely loved being part of the team for the past two and a half years, but with work commitments, a young family and hopefully an exciting new venture on the horizon (more to be revealed soon), I decided that it was time to take a step back.

I just wanted to take this opportunity to say a big THANK YOU to Jo at T4TD for giving me my first DT role, and for letting me be part of the fun – it’s been an amazing team to work with, and I’ve loved watching the business go from strength to strength.

So, for today’s card, I did a bit of masking to create a single layer card – I started out stamping my cat (from this set), who would be peeping out over the top of the cake, then I stamped the same image on some Heffy Doodle low tack tape and fussy cut it to create a mask, which I added over the cat. I repeated the same process for the cake and stand (from the Birthday Cake stamp set) – with masking, start with the image you want at the front, stamp and mask that first, then work your way further to the back.

For my sentiment, I used the Bold Sentiments clear stamps. I used my MISTI stamping tool so that I could stamp the bold sentiment several times, to get a good solid print.

I coloured my image with Copic Markers, then trimmed the card panel down to about 1/4 ” smaller than A2 on each side. I cut an A2 piece of patterned paper from the Brighter Days paper pad, and adhered it to a card base using tape runner*. Then, I added my card panel on top with foam tape for some dimension, and finally finished it off with some pastel rainbow clay embellishments.

So, that’s it! If you’d like to treat yourself, you can use my discount code T4TJAYNE10 for the last time to get 10% off your order! See you again soon!

*the BEST tape runner I’ve ever found in all my years of crafting is this one. Highly recommend.
