MFT Sketch Challenge

Hey crafty friends, I’m back today with another cardmaking challenge entry – this time for MFT’s weekly sketch challenge!

I love this sketch, and as soon as I saw it, I thought it would look good as a notebook page! At first I was going to team it with the School is Cool stamp set, but then I came across the Fairytale Friendship set in my stash, and knew this was the one!

First I chose my colour scheme. I decided to use patterned paper for my background as well, so I chose a paper from the Notebook Paper paper pad, and a background colour from the Colorful Canvas paper pad that co-ordinated. I used the Notebook Edge die-namics to die cut the edge of the notebook paper, then added it to the top of my pink background paper with foam tape, trimming away the excess from the edges. I also added some green paper from the Colorful Canvas pad to act as grass in my scene (I just free-hand cut the shape of the hill).

Once my layout was all set up, I stamped the sentiment on to the notepaper using my MISTI. I then stamped the dragon and a princess from the Fairytale Friendship set using MFT’s Extreme Black ink (copic-friendly), and the sun and clouds from the Rainbow Critters stamp set. I coloured all of the images with the following Copics, before adding highlights with white gel pen:

Dragon: G99, YG95, YG93, YG91, tummy: YG03, YG21

Princess hair: Y17, Y15, Y11

Princess skin: E42, R41, E31, R20

Princess dress and hat: RV17, RV14, RV13, RV11

Sun: Y17, Y13, Y11

I added the images with foam squares, and that finished up my card for today! Thanks for joining me again, I appreciate you 🙂
