Hey guys! Do you like taking part in card challenges? I love them, because they force me to think creatively in ways that I might not have otherwise, and I end up producing something new! Today, I made a card for the current MFT Stamps colour challenge #206, which has the following colour palette:

I started out by making my background, I used the MFT Stamps Watercolor Wash Freeform stencil, and ink blended some distress oxides inside the open area. The colours I used, to try and best match the challenge colours, were Seedless Preserves, Mermaid Lagoon and Salvaged Patina. I blended them in fairly random patches, and then sprayed them with a silver shimmer spray, which gave the background a lovely texture and shine.

I then stamped, coloured and fussy cut two of the images from MFT’s Unicorns and Glitter stamp set. I used MFT’s Extreme black ink, which is Copic friendly, and coloured them with the following Copic markers:
Girl’s dress: BG18, BG15, BG32, BG10. BV08, BV04, BV02. RV69, RV19, RV66
Girl’s hair: E17, E33, E31
Flower and ears: RV63, RV52, Y17
Skin: E53, E50, E000, RV52
Cat’s fur: E53, E51, E50, RV52
Cat’s skirt: RV69, RV66, RV19
Unicorn horns: RV69, RV66, RV19, RV14 (cat) and BG18, BG, 15, BG32 (girl)
I then chose the sentiment “You’re a Limited Edition”, which I heat embossed in white on to some black cardstock, then trimmed it down. I added the images and the sentiment with foam tape to my card panel.

To finish the card, I added a few drops of Nuvo Glitter Drops in Aquatic Mist.
I hope you like it! I had lots of fun stretching myself with a colour challenge, and I look forward to the next one!
