Hi friends! For anyone that has been following me for a while, they’ll know that I am a big fan of MFT Stamps, so I was super excited when they announced their Card Design Superstar competition recently. I didn’t get time to take part last year, so I really wanted to get involved this year!

So, today I’m sharing my entry for the Box Card Master category. I had tonnes of fun making this card! I knew that I wanted to use the Beast Friends stamp set and the Christmas Cheer paper pad, so I decided to colour up my images to match the colour palette in the pad.

I stamped out all the images from the stamp set in MFT Extreme Black ink (which is Copic-friendly), and coloured them with the following Copic colours:
Yetis: W3, W1, W0.
Cheeks: RV11
Face/ears: YR20, YR000
Scarf: BG18, BG15, BG32, BG10
Mug: BG18, BG15, BG32
String of lights: RV17, BG10, BG23, YG03
Pink present: RV17, RV14, RV13, RV11
Teal present: BG18, BG15, BG32, BG10
Santa hat: R29, R27, R24, R22
Trees: YG67, YG17, YG03
I used a white Gelli Roll pen to add highlights to the images, then die cut.
I had a set of the Outside the Box mini slimline dies patiently waiting to be used, so they got their debut today! They were really easy to figure out, I didn’t follow any instructions – I cut the back panel and two side panels in white, as well as three inserts. I decided on the pale blue snowy paper for my background, so cut the layered stitched panels from this. The box came together really easily – I’ll upload a video if you want to see the process in action!

Once the box was assembled, I took some time to figure out the layout I wanted for my scene. I adhered the trees to the back panel – some with liquid glue and others with foam dots for some dimension. I glued the Yeti with the lights to the front (left), the Santa Yeti to the third insert, the Yeti with the scarf to the second insert, and some presents to the first, so there was an even spread / depth of images across the scene.
I stamped my sentiment on to some white card and trimmed it down, the added this to the front panel. Finally, I added a couple more presents with foam dots.
