I can’t actually believe it, but it’s my oldest daughter’s last day at nursery today! She starts primary school on Monday, so she’s gone in with presents for her teachers today. And of course, I had to make some handmade gifts, right? This bookmark was made for her key worker, who has been such a positive influence on her young life!
To make the bookmark, I die cut two of the smallest slimline die from the Slimline Scalloped Trio Circle Nesting Dies by Time for Tea Designs. I secured the add-on die with the three scalloped circles into the centre of the slimline die with washi tape, so that both of my panels had the circles cut in the exact same position.
I then added some acetate to the reverse of each of the panels with liquid glue. I added some foam tape around the edges of the panel, and around the three scalloped circles, then filled each circle with some clay hearts. I placed one of the panels over the other to seal in the shaker contents, and I stamped the sentiment from the School Days Sentiment set by Clearly Besotted on the front.
Next, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut several of the images from the same set. I chose rainbow colours to complement the clay hearts, and I attached them in rainbow order down the bookmark. And that’s it done – actually pretty simple, but I love that you can see all the way through the bookmark, it looks so effective!
Have a wonderful, crafty day! xoxo
