2 for 1 inky backgrounds – Wow Embossing

I love 2 for 1 techniques, and this one is so easy, you need to give it a try! Also, if you like a process video, I have a quick reel over on my Instagram page, so feel free to check it out!

To make my backgrounds, I used the All Squared Up Stencil from Wow! Embossing (Link)*. I chose a rainbow of colours from my Distress Oxides and ink blended onto a white A2 card panel. While the stencil was still covered in the remaining ink, I sprayed it with my Silver Sparkle Shimmer Spray from Time for Tea Designs (Link), then pressed a piece of A2 cardstock into it, creating a lovely shimmery rainbow print, which is the “negative” of the original stencil!

I then trimmed each of my panels down using my stitched rectangle dies from Pink & Main. On the first panel, I used the “Hello” sentiment from the Stamp Market (“Hugs & Hello” set – link). I stamped it in black ink, then again in embossing powder and covered it with Frosted Glass embossing powder from Wow! (Link) to give it some added shine. I added a few clear sequins, then popped the panel up on to a black A2 card base with foam tape.

For my second card, I die cut the Paper Hugs sentiment from Simon Says Stamp three times from white card stock. On one of the die cuts, I pressed it into some embossing ink, and covered it in Obsidian embossing powder (again from Wow – link here). I love the cool marbling effect this one gives! I then stacked it on top of the other two die cuts for dimension and glued it to my card panel. I added some rainbow coloured sequins and then popped it up again onto a white card base with foam tape.
