I’m honoured to be a guest designer again for Wow! Embossing’s new release, and honestly, some of the new trios are just amazing. On today’s card I’ve used my favourite, the Frosted Jewels Trio.
(If you’ve not already seen it, check out the hop that’s going on over on Instagram today for loads more design inspiration from the Wow team, and a chance to win a gift card!!)

To start, I die cut the Garden Trellis background die from Altenew out of white card, and adhered it to a white card base.
I then die cut each of the solid butterflies from the Lawn Fawn Layered Butterflies set from a soft peach cardstock, and the detailed dies from white cardstock.

I pressed the detailed dies into the Wow ultra slow drying embossing pad, and sprinkled over Antique Rose on one, Antique Gold on the second and Antique Silver on the last, before setting them with my heat gun.
I used a clever trick of Jennifer McGuire’s to add some dimension to the butterflies: take a small piece of acetate, scored about 1/4 inch from the edge, glue the 1/4 inch side to the solid butterfly (one on each side, with the acetate pointing outwards). Then, glue the detailed die cut to the solid butterfly in the centre only, folding the wings slightly upwards. They’ll rest on the acetate, giving them some hidden dimension!

Finally, I die cut a circle and stamped the “make a wish” sentiment (from Mama Elephant’s Scripty Bday sentiment stamp set) inside the circle using Wow’s embossing ink, and heat embossed it in Metallic Gold Rich Pale embossing powder.
To finish up, I added a few Sequins from Lucy’s Cards (the mix is called Beauty).
