Happy Easter!

I’m not much of an Easter crafter, but there’s a few crafty items I fell in love with this year and decided to make a couple of simple Easter cards.

After a period of illness, I was feeling a bit uninspired, so I turned to some card sketches on Google to give me some layout ideas, and it really helped!

For my first card, I used the Floral Background stencil from Pretty Pink Posh, and ink blended a background using pastel shades of Distress Oxide inks. I cut the panel down using the Fishtail Banner dies by Pink and Main.

Next, I stamped, coloured and fussy cut the adorable bunny from Lawn Fawn’s Better Days stamp set. I die cut a white circle using the stitched circle nesting dies from Time for Tea Designs and added my bunny to it with foam tape. I added the circle to the left hand side of my banner and trimmed off the edge. I then added the banner to an A2 panel of green cardstock, which I’d cut using some stitched nesting dies from Pink and Main.

I die cut the “happy easter” border sentiment from Lawn Fawn a couple of times from white card and stacked them together for dimension, then added to my card panel. Finally, I added some sequins (“Lullaby” mix from Lucy’s Cards) and glued my finished card front to a white A2 base.

The sketch on the left is the one I used for inspiration:

For my second card, I ink blended a background panel in the same way, and die cut it to just smaller than A2 size using the same stitched nesting dies from Pink and Main. I coloured up a second bunny and added him to another white die cut circle, as before.

I popped the circle on to the background, added another “happy easter” die cut sentiment, and the same sequin mix as above. Finally, I added my finished panel to an A2 cream card base using foam tape.

This time my card was loosely based around the layout on the left:

Have you ever used card sketches to inspire you? I think I’ll be doing it again in future!

Have a lovely Easter Weekend, and see you soon!
