I’ve been doing really well this year in keeping my resolution to use more of my existing craft supplies, and not to buy too much new stuff. However, I did cave and buy a few new sets from the Clearly Besotted sale last week, and I couldn’t wait to colour up these adorable cacti! (The set is called Prickly Plushies).

It’s my sister’s birthday on Sunday, so I decided to use the sentiment in the set: “Hope your birthday is on point”… I do love a crafty pun!
I tried out several different combinations of green Copic markers for the Cacti, and I’ve listed below the ones I’ve used, left-right:
Cactus 1: G99, YG95, YG93, G20, flower: Y13, YG21, Y000
Cactus 2: YG67, YG17, YG07, YG03, YG21
Cactus 3: G24, YG03, YG21, G20
Cactus 4: G24, YG03, YG21, G20, flower: R20, R01
Cactus 5: YG67, YG17, YG07
For the terracotta plantpots, I used: E09, YR27, YR24, YR12
And for the violet-blue plantpots: V09, V17, BV04, BV02
And all of the cacti have R22 rosy cheeks π To finish them, I added some highlights with white gel pen.

To create my scene, I masked off a rectangle on some white card stock, then used the Clearly Besotted Built It stencil to create a little wall for the plantpots to stand on. I used Aged Mahogany and Crackling Campfire distress oxides for the wall, then ink blended some Tumbled Glass above the wall for the sky.
I added my prickly plushies with foam tape to the top of the wall, heat embossed my sentiment on to some black card and also added that with foam tape. Then to finish, I added a few Ice Crystal clear sequins from Lucy’s Cards, and added my finished scene to some mushroom coloured cardstock.
I hope you love this little card as much as I do! I never want to send my cards out, do you?? π
