A mice day to celebrate

Guys, my baby nephew just turned 13. 13!! I can’t believe it. But, it did give me an opportunity to use the new Mice Day to Celebrate stamp set from My Favorite Things, which I’ve been dying to do!

If you’ve been following me for a while, you’ll know I’m a sucker for a shaker card 🙂 I wanted to use more masculine colours, so I ink blended my background using Twisted Citron, Cracked Pistachio and Mermaid Lagoon distress oxides.

Next up, I stamped the little mice, stool, cupcake and bunting images using alcohol marker friendly ink and coloured them using Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers in blue-green shades to complement the background. I attended an online colouring class by Time for Tea Designs recently and I used my newly acquired techniques here – I really like how the images turned out! Finally, I fussy cut the coloured images.

To make the shaker, I die cut a circle from my card panel, glued some acetate to the reverse, then added foam tape all around the window. I filled it with confetti and gold stars, then sealed them in by placing my ink blended panel down over the foam tape.

I arranged my little scene over the top of the shaker window, stuck the characters down with foam tape, and stamped my sentiment below. I then added my finished panel to a white card base, and this little guy was all done!

Hope you’re all staying well and crafty!
