As soon as my friend Rebecca told me she was going to apply to retrain as a nurse, I knew she’d ace it. She’s super caring and smart and of course she was offered a place everywhere she interviewed!

So, obviously I had a card already made and waiting to go when she was offered her preferred place! I used the My Favorite Things stamp set called Book In Hand which features a student, but I made sure not to ink up the line between her top & skirt so I could make her look more like a nurse in scrubs! I then drew in an NHS lanyard and a nurses watch, and personalised her notebook with my friend’s initials.

I coloured the image with Spectrum Noir markers and fussy cut her out.
Next up, I made a stencil by die cutting a heart shape into a piece of scrap card, then I ink blended rainbow coloured distress oxides on to an A2 card blank, as the rainbow is now synonymous with our amazing NHS.

I then heat embossed the Hey There, Smarty Pants sentiment onto some black cardstock, snipped it in the middle and placed the two parts over the heart with foam tape.

I adhered my student nurse with foam tape as well, and finished off with some gems by Little Things by Lucy in co-ordinating rainbow colours.
I stamped the “con-grad-ulations” sentiment on the inside of the card, and that’s my card finished! I love her, she’s so bright and cheery, perfect for her recipient π
Thanks for tuning in, guys! Hope you have a crafty day x
