Don’t worry, be Slothy

I finally had time last night to play with my new goodies from Time for Tea Designs! I’ve been waiting for an opportunity to try out their Die-Namic Display Card dies, as I’ve seen plenty of cool 3D cards around, but never tried anything like that myself.

Seriously, how cute are these sloths?? They’re also from Time for Tea Designs, and I bought the co-ordinating dies, so cutting everything out once I’d coloured the images was so quick and easy.

Making the display box itself was so simple! I had all the pieces die cut within 5 minutes. I used a bit of Distress Oxide (Bundled Sage and Forest Moss) to blend around the outside of my background, then stamped some branches from an old Card-io Majestix set in Forest Moss and Evergreen Bough. I then assembled the display box, using liquid glue to secure each panel, and it only took a couple of minutes!

Next, I stamped out my sloths, leaves and butterflies and coloured them with Spectrum Noir Tri-Blend markers. I used the co-ordinating dies to cut everything out, and then I arranged them around the card. When I was happy with the layout, I secured them with tape runner or liquid glue (and a bit of foam for the “sorry it’s late” sentiment).

Finally, I stamped the “birthday wishes” sentiment on the front panel with Versamark ink and heat embossed in gold. It’s hard to see the lovely shine in the pictures!

This card is going to a friend, who’s birthday I missed (oops!), so I’m hoping the cute little critters will help her forgive me 🙂

This came together so quickly and I was so pleased with the finished result, I’ll definitely be making more of these soon. I’ve already got Easter ones planned for my nieces!
